Sharon Yvonne Stone is the sole child born to Dorothy Lawson (an accountant) and Joseph William Stone II, an engineer and tool maker. She was also a employee of a plant. Sharon was born on 10 March 1958in Meadville Pennsylvania. Michael, Kelly and Patrick are her three siblings. Stone is a gifted student in school as an infant, started in second grade at five. Saegertown Senior High School in Saegertown Pennsylvania was the place where she graduated in 1975. She was also a contestant in Saegertown's Miss Pennsylvania beauty pageant, winning Miss Crawford County. Stone relocated to New Jersey in 1977 with her aunt, to pursue a career as models. Within a month, Stone signed up for the Ford Modeling Agency. Then, she moved to Europe, spending a year with her aunt in Milan and Paris. Stone was unhappy with the modeling industry in Europe, and chose to pursue acting instead. The film of Woody Allen, "Stardust Memories", was a mixed success when she was 20.
